Discussion Points

Treasurers Info

Confirmation of current bank balance £7,136.39 (Treasure’s account £2043.75 and Savings account £5,092.64)

School Funding Requests:

Funding Requests. A request from the headmaster for some prayer mats. Cost £45. Request unanimously approved.

Action(s):
A carry-over request for another x30 French dictionaries. Left on the minutes as to be reviewed again in late 2025/2026. Agreed to review in June.

Gold Club Card Report

No update

Action(s): Left here for an update at the next meeting.
  • VS to liaise with BP to transfer £3k into the Treasures account.
  • The last draw was in September so draws are needed for Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan.. 
  • The members list needs editing as there are many still included who have stopped their payments.

Second Hand Uniform Report

TE reported that Uniform sales still ticking along okay. There are also quite a few B grade items, so the preference is that these are seen by the parents before purchasing. Therefore, we need to focus on a couple of physical sales.   

There is a Y6 transition evening on 30/June and the PTFA have been invited.

Actions:
  • Volunteers needed for Y6 transition evening. Confirmed TE, PB, DWa, Dwi, SAF and SR. Sum up machine also required. (all details to be finalised on the WhatsApp group and info shared with LB in school). 
  • Next school year: The Y9 and Y11 parents’ evenings are both good options for the next school year. Comments left here so they are not forgotten about.

PTFA Members & DBS

The recent postponement of Choc Fest highlighted that we need more PTFA members with valid Kings School DBS to help out on the day to make it a success.

Current PTFA members who are progressing with a DBS: KB, JC, BS, AF, and NMS.

PTFA members will then be required to attend a safeguarding training session conducted by the school. The next time/date is 3-3.30pm on Friday, May 9. 

Social Media/Marketing

AM has kindly volunteered to help with promoting the PTFA on social media.

SP asked if someone from the PTFA could help him by writing the PTFA section of the school newsletter and for help with the PTFA emails asking parents/carers for donations/raffles/events etc.

Winter Ball (11th October 2025)

Discussed the cost of a ticket and all agreed that £45pp was acceptable. Or even a little higher.

Discussed the cheese option with the additional £2.50pp supplement and difficulties in managing this.

Booking form completed for the Masonic Hall.

  • Pork Wellington. Pork Loin and Apple Farce, wrapped in Puff Pastry resting on Fondant Potato
  • Karen’s Murgh Chattinad. Tender pieces of Chicken, cooked with Onion, Coconut & Ginger, served with Saffron Rice, Nan Bread & Poppadum

Desserts

  • New York Cheesecake, served with Cream.
  • Chocolate Fudge Cake, served with Cream.
  • Cheese Board: A selection of cheeses, served with Grapes, Chutney, Celery, Crackers & Butter (£2.50 pp. supplement)
  • Reserve if cheese supplement cannot be waivered: Fresh Fruit Cocktail, served with Cream or “Old Fashioned” Evaporated Milk!

Coffee, Tea & Mints (included)

  • Donations required for raffle prizes: All agreed that PTFA members can start to approach previous prize donors and new contacts now to ask for donations. SP mentioned that a signed England rugby shirt was recently auctioned off for £800. 
Action(s):
PTFA members to start to ask for donations for raffle prizes.
ED to ask if the £2.50pp supplement can be waived for the cheese board.
