The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an excellent opportunity for students to develop skills, confidence and a view on life that everyone is looking for, from employers to colleges and universities. It is an excellent way for students to get recognition for doing things of interest to them and therefore encourages independence. It leads to active citizenship – students will make a difference to other people’s lives and their community. They will also be fitter and healthier and develop a ‘can do’ approach that will help them meet challenges in later life. More information can be found at www.dofe.org/
The three levels of the Award are:
- Bronze – Year 10 (enroled in term 6 of year 9)
- Silver – Year 11
- Gold – Year 12
Boys who are interested in completing the Duke of Edinburgh Award should contact Mrs Hamblett for further information.
