King's V Northampton School for Boys
Over 100 students represent King's in rugby fixtures against Northampton School for Boys
Over 100 students represented King's in rugby fixtures against Northampton School for Boys (NSB) on Saturday. The U-12 team continued to demonstrate their improvement and undoubted talent levels by playing out a thrilling 5-5 draw against tough opposition. In a game of epic defence, King's found themselves down by 1 try with little time left in the 2nd half. The team pulled together to keep out NSB and their hard work was finally rewarded when Charlie North stole a march on the NSB defence and ran in a well worked team try. Charlie has scored in every game he has played for King's this year. It was the ultimate performance with each player giving their all and playing to their potential. The U-13’s, led by the inspirational Joshua Brahoua, put in a fantastic battling performance to defeat NSB 30-20. This means the Year 8 team remains undefeated this year, but this victory was perhaps the most enjoyable of all as the team had to work hard and earn the win. Elsewhere there were narrow defeats for both the U-14 and U-15 teams despite man of the man performances from George Conron (Year 9) and Max Fairlie (Year 10). The 1st XV and 2nd XV both battled bravely, but both came off second best against very strong NSB teams. This week, the 1st XV will host Hill House on Wednesday whilst the U-15 team travel to De Aston, Market Rasen for the 3rd round of the Natwest Vase competition on Friday.
